--NeoCities--

What better way to start than the website itself? First, it's extremely beginner friendly. You can make websites for free however you want, and it provides a tutorial for you automatically!

It's also really generous with giving you 1 GB to start out on your website. After looking at other people's craft, you can really get a taste of what you can do.

All you need to be able to create stuff here is basic web coding skills, of which there are online tutorials for on YouTube, and other places on the web.

With these skills, as well as further practice and development, people have made extremely well made websites that each have their own personality!

This gives a great breath of fresh air compared to most websites today, which are pretty cookie-cutter. They are professional, clean, and pretty bland. Barely any personality at all.

NeoCities is an amazing throwback to the old internet, where pages were more wild and distinct, which is sadly not really the case nowadays. It's a really sweet reliving here.

--SpaceHey--

Oh, yes. SpaceHey. Let's start at the beginning. Eight months ago, I was chatting on the app, Discord, with a friend. While we talked, they told me about the website. And so, I made an account.

I then chatted with them on there briefly, and logged out. But during March, I remembered SpaceHey, and went back on. That was when I saw just what I was missing out on. Complete customization.

Once I returned, I begun looking at the other profiles on the platform. A lot of them looked really cool. Some had loading screens, others extremely colorful designs. It's like a sandbox.

There were plenty of extremely beautiful layouts free for use on there, provided you gave credit or commented. Like NeoCities, SpaceHey is also free! You can even customize blogs, as well!

Like Neocities, SpaceHey also reminded me of the old internet with the many stickers or buttons on users' profiles. I love retro stuff like this. I'm really glad to have discovered the website.
